Greeting

Welcome to Tendoryu, a revered 'kobudo' martial art deeply rooted in Japanese tradition for over 450 years. Our school was established by Saito Hangan Den Kibo, a devoted disciple of Tsukahara Bokuden, and since then, his techniques have been diligently passed down through generations.

Tendoryu encompasses a wide array of weapons, such as the naginata, tachi (Japanese sword), nito (two swords), jo (stick), kama (chainsickle), kotachi (short sword), kaiken (dagger), and tanto (knife). The naginata, known for its long handle and blade, enables practical and purposeful movements, accompanied by distinct body and footwork. Tendoryu is renowned for its 'kata-shiai' approach, aiming to achieve effortless, natural precision in motion.

As the current Soke of Tendoryu, it is my profound duty to transmit the essence of this style to you. Together, we strive to continue the rich legacy and propel the history of Tendoryu even further.
